**Published:** August 2, 2026 - **Apply:** https://diversityjobs.com/main/sendform/8/8/28176/1/17817735?backUrl=%2Fcareer%2F17817735%2FModel-Based-Systems-Engineer-Virginia-Arlington ## About the Role * Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline * At least 4 years' experience as a model-based systems engineer (non-IT systems) for defense or aerospace systems Desired Qualifications * Master's Degree in a relevant technical discipline * Direct experience with MBSE for specific Navy terminal defense systems such as RAM and CIWS. * Experience with DoD modeling frameworks, e.g., DoDAF, UAF, UPDM * Experience with Navy-specific modeling tools, e.g. Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Teamwork Cloud, the Navy High Performance Computing Center, Navy LIFT, etc. * Experience with the Navy modeling schema documented in the Integrated Capability Framework (ICF) * An active DoD SECRET clearance * Prior SIPR account and experience using SIPR systems * Ability to work effectively with team members and subcontractors from various technical, acquisition, and administrative disciplines * Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills * Ability to develop and deliver coherent and concise customer presentations ## Description The selectee will perform as the Decision Technologies Model-Based Systems Engineer for a US Navy Weapons Engineering and Program Acquisition Support contract., * Develop models, architectural products, and digital artifacts for a system and/or System-of-Systems (SoS) in line with established standards, best practices, policies, and procedures * Apply modeling techniques to support various stages of the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements setting, design, analysis, verification, and validation for systems or SoS * Provide crucial support to ensure that systems are designed and developed to be interoperable, facilitating effective communication and interaction among various system components * Produce detailed reports that inform and guide the management of MBSE and digital environment activities, aiding in strategic decision-making processes * Manage and coordinate information and resources effectively to achieve objectives related to the digital thread, ensuring seamless data integration and flow across the system lifecycle * Implement and promote a model-based culture within the organization, leveraging the capabilities of the digital enterprise environment infrastructure to enhance system development and operations * Utilize model data to enable the creation of a comprehensive digital thread that integrates with other engineering disciplines, such as cybersecurity and configuration management, fostering a holistic approach to system development. ## Related Videos -
