Without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience are required (8+ years in total). Experience: 5+ years of Linux HPC-related experience, with a focus on large-scale HPC system administration and hardware support. Strong experience with current versions of Linux/Unix operating systems, file systems, networking, and security (Red Hat/CentOS or equivalent) is required. Technical Skills: Proficiency in HPC Hardware, HPC Software, and Break/Fix procedures is required. A working knowledge of Linux operating systems such as RHEL or SLES is preferred. General Skills * Ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Excellent interpersonal, customer relations, and problem-management skills, with the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines. * Ability to clearly document processes and procedures. * Possesses an advanced level of technical or functional knowledge. * Ability to perform or drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products. * Demonstrates the use of consulting skills, including questioning, listening, and influencing. ## Description This position involves supporting a high-performance computing (HPC) supercomputer at a customer site. The role requires reporting on-site five days a week and working with both the customer and remote teams to maintain system availability and uptime. The work includes daily break-fix tasks, extensive troubleshooting, and parts replacement across the system.
