Works mostly independently and requires limited day-to-day direction. * Understands how to implement a solution from scratch, and what it takes to deliver an application from inception to production. * Deals well with ambiguity when devising solutions, and asks good questions. * Track record of successful delivery: strong understanding of best practices, few quality issues, and very little rework. * Able to pick up work in new areas and teach yourself, and to judge which tool is best for the job. * Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science; A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Here are some examples of the kind of work the team takes on: * Building and evolving content experiences on wwt.com - articles, videos, case studies, and expert briefings - with a focus on discoverability and performance. * Improving site-wide search and recommendations so practitioners can find relevant technical content quickly. * Migrating and modernizing key areas of wwt.com onto an upgraded Nuxt application, improving page performance, accessibility, and maintainability. * Developing personalization features that tailor content and calls to action based on a visitor's interests and history. * Partnering with SEO and analytics stakeholders to instrument the site and turn engagement data into product decisions. * Applying AI and LLM-based capabilities to site experiences, such as content summarization, semantic search, and automated content quality checks. * Strengthening the platform underneath the site - CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and Core Web Vitals - so releases are frequent and low-risk. What will you be doing? As a Full Stack Developer on the team, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and delivering quality software that is thoughtful and maintainable. Your primary focus will be developing new features leveraging JavaScript, NodeJS, and Vue.js. You will work mostly independently, taking solutions from scratch through to production, and you will partner closely with fellow developers, designers, and stakeholders to turn requirements into working software. Responsibilities: * Build functional software and deliver technical solutions that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations using web and AI technologies. * Ensure software and solutions scale well, are cost-effective, and adhere to software development best practices. * Write thoughtful code that is maintainable and efficient, applying best practices so work ships with few quality issues and very little rework. * Peer review the team's work and identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to technical discussions. * Solve loosely defined problems self-sufficiently, asking good questions to close gaps and escalating blockers early. * Interact directly with stakeholders to understand functional requirements and needs. * Demo solutions, communicate status to stakeholders at all levels, and articulate how the work you are doing is adding value. * Take features from scratch through to production, choosing the right tool for the job. * Pick up work in unfamiliar areas of the stack and get yourself up to speed with minimal mentoring. * Participate in ideation sessions and sprint planning.
