This position requires hands-on engagement in back-end and front-end tasks, contributing to modular builds, user interfaces, and database logic. The Jr. Software Developer collaborates with technical leads to resolve code-level issues, participates in Agile events, and implements features according to specifications. As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities * Configure, install, and troubleshoot applications in GovCloud environments and on-premise servers. * Develop procedures, programs and documentation for IT system, backup and restoration of operating systems, data replication across cloud data centers, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts such as the Systems Security Contingency Plan and Disaster Recover Procedure. * Conduct risk and vulnerability assessment for system and perform system migrations as required. Participate in network and system design to ensure implementation of appropriate system security policies. Perform Security Technology Implementation Guide (STIG) and Information Assurance (IA) validation as required. * Apply required IA and security requirements and other required operating system and software updates. * Design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting NAVSEA enterprise systems. * Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation of applications. * Configure and optimize application performance, including tuning for speed, scalability, and security. * Implement provisioning and deployment procedures for multiple software environments. * Develop recovery and contingency plans to ensure system continuity. Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure security compliance and system reliability. * Support migration and integration of applications to cloud or hybrid environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure Government, AWS GovCloud).
