Education and Experience:

 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
 * At least four years of related work experience required.

Physical Requirements:

 * Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
 * Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

## Description

* Evaluates assigned network and systems for performance, security, and other issues.
 * Analyzes data processing requirements to effectively plan a data processing system that will provide the system capabilities necessary for projected workloads.
 * Collaborates with data processing and project managers to determine limitations and capabilities of the existing system, and the capabilities required for future data processing projects and projected workload.
 * Determines optimal hardware configurations by evaluating a variety of factors such as the number of departments serviced by data processing equipment, volume of transactions, and need for security and access restrictions.
 * Determines, suggests, and plans layout for computers and peripheral equipment, including necessary changes to existing equipment and systems required to ensure efficient operation and effective use of allotted space.
 * Determines power supply requirements and configurations.
 * Assists users with software, hardware, connectivity, and related issues; provides training on new or modified equipment.
 * Ensures system operates in line with specifications by monitoring equipment functions.
 * Performs other related duties as assigned.
