(Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.), Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures for computer support., This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. ## Description Manages day-to-day activities of the College of Arts & Sciences Information Technology Services group (CASITS). Providing IT support as part of CASITS, coordinating activities and assisting supported units within the College as needed with information and technology support activities. Coordinates workflow, provides direction, mentorship, and training to ensure high-quality services are delivered to units participating in the CASITS program. Manages day-to-day activities of the College of Arts & Sciences Information Technology Services group (CASITS). Assesses workload, monitors productivity, and provides regular performance feedback to direct reports to ensure unit goals are met. Works with the Assistant Director to develop and implement appropriate operating processes and standards for the group. Participates in and may co-lead projects designed to enhance the service provided to CASITS-supported units. Works as part of the CoAS team to recommend, develop, and implement internal policies and procedures to achieve immediate and long-range goals. Ensures proper function of information systems by installing, testing, and maintaining hardware, software, servers, and network infrastructure for units participating in CASITS program. Troubleshoots computer problems and provides assistance in the use of software applications. Works with departments on ordering computer equipment, software, and supplies. Responsible for the coordination of technology-enhanced events for the College of Arts and Sciences. Planning of event scheduling, preparation, and testing of all technology, assignment of support staff, oversight of event setup, execution of all technology throughout the event, and post-production oversight of all information gathered during the event. Serves as contact for website design and implementation for CASITS-supported units, ensuring compliance with current standards, software, and University and College policies. Oversee departmental computer labs in CASITS-supported units, including maintenance, upgrades, and configurations. Analyzes issues and develops solutions; researches and recommends technology resources. Provides audio/visual expertise, including setup, configuration, user support, and troubleshooting for classroom and instructional lab equipment within CASITS-supported units. Implements and coordinates University security and technology policies for CASITS-supported units. Develops and maintains procedures and documentation in alignment with University expectations and deadlines. Provides training to CoAS technology support staff and assists with training faculty, staff, and students on policies and procedures. Collaborate with the supervisor to ensure technology solutions meet the College's needs and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and as a team. The expectation is for a candidate to have a baseline of knowledge and understanding of IT related tasks and how to troubleshoot and resolve standard issues. The ideal candidate will also be willing to learn new skills and teach others. What is a typical day in this position? The typical day consists of review new and pending cases for updates, scheduling times to meet with faculty and staff to resolve issues and coordinating with other members of CASITS and other IT groups across campus for the completions of projects. What can the selected candidate expect in the first 60-90 days? This time will primarily consist of learning the Standard Operating Procedures for CASITS. You will become familiarized with our supported departments, programs, and organizations along with their specific needs.
