These applications give our internal sales, finance and customer service teams a clear, trustworthy view of a customer's financial relationship with CoStar - what they subscribe to, what they have been billed, and where their account stands - along with the tools to act on it, from servicing subscription changes to resolving billing issues and responding to customer requests. These systems sit directly in the path of CoStar's revenue operations and are subject to audit and SOX controls, so correctness, traceability and reliability matter as much as speed of delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will manage and grow the team, own its deliverables and its coordination with partner teams, and stay directly involved in design and implementation. You will set the bar for engineering practices through your own work as much as through review and mentorship, and you will be accountable for the reliability of what the team runs in production. This position is in Richmond, VA and has a work schedule of Monday through Thursday in-office and Friday work from home., * Lead and grow a team of full stack engineers, including hiring, coaching, performance management and career development * Own the team's deliverables end to end, from scope and technical direction through quality and on-time delivery * Plan and coordinate with other engineering teams, product management and business stakeholders across finance, sales and customer service, setting realistic commitments and communicating progress, risks and tradeoffs * Own the architecture of the team's systems across the full stack, balancing micro-frontend web application design with the backend-for-frontend layer, REST APIs and the relational data layer they depend on * Stay hands-on, contributing directly to design and implementation across the stack, and participating in design and code reviews * Translate business, audit and regulatory requirements into well-scoped, testable engineering work, and keep stakeholders honest about tradeoffs * Be accountable for production support of the team's systems, including monitoring, alerting, incident response and reliability * Hold a high bar for engineering practices and standards across testing, code quality, CI/CD, documentation, observability and security ## Related Videos - [Navigating the Corporate Jungle: Life as a Developer in a large Company](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/621-navigating-the-corporate-jungle-life-as-a-developer-in-a-large-company) - [Debug a Kubernetes Operator](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/487-debug-a-kubernetes-operator) - [Reducing LLM Calls with Vector Search Patterns - Raphael De Lio (Redis)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1714-reducing-llm-calls-with-vector-search-patterns-raphael-de-lio-redis) - [The Resilience of the World Wide Web](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1281-the-resilience-of-the-world-wide-web) - [Add Location-based Searching to Site with ElasticSearch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/77-add-location-based-searching-to-site-with-elasticsearch) - [Accelerating Authentication Architecture: Taking Passwordless to the Next Level](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/733-accelerating-authentication-architecture-taking-passwordless-to-the-next-level) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [React Developer Salary [2023]](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/198-react-developer-salary-2023) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [What’s the Difference between a Junior, Mid, and Senior Developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/238-what-s-the-difference-between-a-junior-mid-and-senior-developer)
