As part of our VDI Lab team, you will be responsible for building and evolving the environments that our product teams rely on - standing up new VDI platforms, thin client operating systems, and cloud desktop services, and researching how to integrate emerging technologies into our infrastructure. Because the position is highly cross-functional, the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and pragmatic way is essential. You will work side by side with product and engineering teams, and your work will become the foundation on which our endpoint capabilities are built and validated across virtualization and cloud desktop platforms. Responsibilities * Build and evolve the virtualization environments our endpoint products run on, across the major VDI and cloud desktop platforms. * Automate it end to end: infrastructure as code, provisioning and image pipelines, so any engineer can get a working desktop on demand. * Keep it running across public cloud and on-prem - networking, identity, and monitoring. * Evaluate and integrate emerging endpoint technologies, from proof of concept to supported platform. * Work with product managers, engineering teams, and technology partners to unlock and validate new platform coverage. * Be the person other teams come to when they need to understand how a virtualization platform behaves., * Additional VDI platforms, brokers, or gateways (NetScaler/ADC, UAG) * Hypervisor administration (vSphere/ESXi, Nutanix) and golden image lifecycle - build, optimization, patching, FSLogix * Networking for virtual desktops - VLANs, firewalling, TLS, site-to-site VPN to AWS or Azure * Cloud infrastructure on Azure or AWS, and CI/CD or image pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Packer) * Secure administration - RBAC, PIM, secrets management, vulnerability management * Thin client and endpoint management - IGEL UMS, Dell Wyse Management Suite, Intune * Synthetic testing / benchmarking - Login Enterprise (Login VSI) or similar How you work * You can explain a platform constraint to a product manager and a design trade-off to an engineer on the same day * You're drawn to unfamiliar technology rather than wary of it - this role puts something new in front of you every quarter ## Related Videos - [Shipping Faster with Less: Render on Cloud Hosting, AI Workloads, and the Future of DevOps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1894-shipping-faster-with-less-render-on-cloud-hosting-ai-workloads-and-the-future-of-devops) - [The Road to MLOps: How Verivox Transitioned to AWS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1050-the-road-to-mlops-how-verivox-transitioned-to-aws) - [Innovating Developer Tools with AI: Insights from GitHub Next](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1268-innovating-developer-tools-with-ai-insights-from-github-next) - [Enterprise-Cloud-Native - Fast-Paced Development & Deployment in a Highly Secure Banking Environment](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/671-enterprise-cloud-native-fast-paced-development-deployment-in-a-highly-secure-banking-environment) - [Eclipse Che for Infrastructure Automation](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1611-eclipse-che-for-infrastructure-automation) - [Our GitOps approach for deploying an Identity Provider and an API Gateway in a SaaS company](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/776-our-gitops-approach-for-deploying-an-identity-provider-and-an-api-gateway-in-a-saas-company) ## Related Articles - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [7 Cloud Computing Trends Coming in 2025 for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/412-7-cloud-computing-trends-coming-in-2025-for-developers) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers)
