(>3 years at least) * Strong experience with TypeScript. * Solid knowledge of modern JavaScript, HTML and CSS. * Experience building applications that interact heavily with APIs. * Experience structuring larger frontend applications and reusable component libraries. * A strong understanding of responsive web development. * Experience with state management and modern frontend architecture. * Good understanding of authentication, authorization and frontend security principles. * Experience working with Git and modern development workflows. * An eye for detail and a strong sense of UX and visual design. * The ability to work independently and make pragmatic technical decisions. * The confidence to challenge requirements when you see a better solution. * Good communication skills in English. You do not have to be a professional UX designer, but you should be the type of developer who immediately notices when: * a workflow contains unnecessary steps; * a screen feels confusing; * information hierarchy could be improved; * a form can be made considerably easier to use; * a design looks inconsistent; * or a technically correct solution simply does not provide a good user experience. You enjoy solving these problems rather than waiting for someone else to specify every detail. Experience with Next.js, design systems, Figma, automated testing, CI/CD or SaaS platformsis a plus. Because we are a small team, personality and working style are important. You are likely to enjoy this role if you: * like ownership rather than narrowly defined tasks; * enjoy building products from an early stage; * prefer short communication lines and quick decision-making; * can move between technical detail and the bigger product picture; * are pragmatic and know when something should be perfect and when it simply needs to work well; * enjoy experimenting with new technologies and AI-assisted development; * want your work to have a visible impact on customers and the company. ## Description You will work closely with our backend developers and the founders to turn complex workflows into simple, intuitive and professional user experiences. This is not a role where you simply receive finished designs and convert them into code. We are looking for someone who actively thinks about how a feature should work, how users should interact with it and how the product can become easier and better. You should therefore combine strong frontend engineering skills with a genuine interest in UX, product design and usability. * Take technical ownership of our frontend architecture and development. * Build and further develop our platform using React and TypeScript. * Design reusable, scalable and maintainable frontend components. * Integrate the frontend with backend services and REST APIs. * Translate business requirements and complex workflows into intuitive user interfaces. * Improve the overall UX and consistency of the platform. * Think critically about user journeys, interactions, layouts and information architecture. * Work closely with backend developers on API design and implementation. * Review code and establish frontend development standards and best practices. * Improve frontend performance, reliability and maintainability. * Help determine technical and product priorities. * Turn ideas and prototypes into production-ready functionality. * Continuously look for opportunities to make the platform simpler, faster and more user-friendly. * Strong view and willingness to use AI in a structured way with guardrails You have strong professional experience developing modern web applications and are comfortable taking responsibility for the frontend of a growing SaaS platform. ## Related Videos - [The Pragmatic Architect: Balancing Necessity vs. Sufficiency in React Systems](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2101-the-pragmatic-architect-balancing-necessity-vs-sufficiency-in-react-systems) - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [Boost Productivity with AI: Figma & Playwright MCP Workflows - Aris Markogiannakis](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1768-boost-productivity-with-ai-figma-playwright-mcp-workflows-aris-markogiannakis) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) - [WeAreDevelopers LIVE - How DevRel Makes Tech More Human](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2149-wearedevelopers-live-how-devrel-makes-tech-more-human) ## Related Articles - [How to land a developer job in Amsterdam](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/36-how-to-land-a-developer-job-in-amsterdam) - [The Netherlands – Europe’s powerhouse for software development?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/31-the-netherlands-europe-s-powerhouse-for-software-development) - [Software Developer Salary in The Netherlands [2023]](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/217-software-developer-salary-in-the-netherlands-2023) - [How to Find Tech Jobs in Amsterdam](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/279-how-to-find-tech-jobs-in-amsterdam) - [Best Companies in the Netherlands: Top 25 Companies in 2023 ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/193-best-companies-in-the-netherlands-top-25-companies-in-2023) - [16 Best Free React UI Libraries in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/148-16-best-free-react-ui-libraries-in-2025)
