Preferred degree programs * Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following disciplines: * Cyber Security Engineering * Computer Engineering * Electrical Engineering * Computer Science * Aerospace Engineering (with cyber focus) * Graduate studies in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or Secure Systems preferred, * Understanding of core cybersecurity principles (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability) * Knowledge of network architectures and communication protocols * Familiarity with threat modeling and risk assessment techniques * Experience with scripting or software development (Python preferred) * Basic understanding of Linux and system administration * Cybersecurity lab, capture-the-flag, vulnerability analysis, or research experience Aviation-Relevant Knowledge * Understanding of embedded or cyber-physical systems * Familiarity with aircraft data networks and connected systems * Interest in aviation cybersecurity, airworthiness security, or secure-by-design development * Exposure to safety-critical development environments * Understanding of secure architectures and system boundaries * Research experience involving system security, network security, or embedded security Knowledge of: * NIST Cybersecurity Framework * Secure software development practices * Penetration testing methodologies * Experience using AI/ML for anomaly detection or cyber analytics, 1. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher. 2. Completion of sophomore year is required. prior to the internship start date. 3. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (without rounding); must be listed on resume. 4. Rotation Requirements: Juniors - 2 rotations; Seniors & Graduate Students - 1 rotation. 5. Minimum duration: 12 weeks (summer); 14-16 weeks (spring and fall). 6. Must be onsite; this is not a remote position. 7. Must have reliable transportation. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. ## Description Join the Electronic Systems Engineering (ESE) organization as a Collegiate Intern focused on Aviation Cyber Security. This position offers an opportunity to work alongside Gulfstream engineers responsible for securing aircraft systems throughout the product development lifecycle. Modern Gulfstream aircraft rely on highly integrated avionics, communications networks, software applications, and connected technologies. Engineers within the Aviation Cyber Security team work closely with systems, software, avionics, and certification organizations to identify cybersecurity risks, develop mitigations, and help ensure aircraft systems are designed with security as a foundational element. As a Collegiate Intern, you will contribute to engineering activities supporting cyber risk assessments, threat modeling, security requirements development, security architecture evaluations, and verification activities. You may assist with analysis of aircraft networks, software-enabled systems, data flows, and external interfaces to help identify potential vulnerabilities and improve overall system resilience. This position provides exposure to aviation regulations, secure development practices, safety-critical systems, and aircraft certification processes.
