Ability to receive and give constructive feedback * Experienced in hiring high-performance engineers and managing their performance * Collaborative approach to problem-solving in cross-functional teams. ## Description Supermicro is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager with exceptional networking software development and technical leadership experience to join our rapidly growing switch department. In this role, you will be involved in the design, development, and testing of switching software products. This position will be based at our headquarters in San Jose, CA., Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned): * Networking Software Design & Development: End-to-end ownership key applications in the Super Fabric Manager (SFM) software. Understand and translate requirements into functional specs, design, implement, and review software. Deliver high-quality software on aggressive project schedules. * Collaboration, hiring & mentoring: Collaborate with cross-organizational stakeholders, product managers and technical leads to meet project goals. Mentor teammates on best practices and architecture. Actively lead team discussions, share feedback, and use strong verbal skills to drive collaboration and clarity. Hire high-performance engineers, build high performance teams and manage their performance * Customer Focus: Collaborate with external and internal customers and resolve technical issues. Use excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to understand customer needs and solve customer pain points. Deliver creative and innovative solutions to customer issues. * Process Improvements: Take initiative to recommend and implement process improvements. Share ideas and lessons learned with the team in meetings and retrospectives. * Software Ecosystem: Build robust, secure, and scalable network solutions. Collaborate with security teams as needed. * Software Testing Automation: Lead building tools and scripts for continuous development and integration (CD/CI), software automation for the white box and black box testing, validate problem descriptions, perform detailed diagnostics, and resolve issues quickly. * Documentation & Communication: Ensure comprehensive documentation, create user guides, and write up methodologies.
