BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience ## Description As an Analog ASIC Architect on the Touch Technology team, you will own the architecture of complex mixed-signal ASICs from concept through silicon, with the goal of enabling best-in-class touch sensing experiences across Apple's product line. You will translate high-level system requirements into rigorous, realizable designs - defining the analog front-end architecture, signal processing pipeline, and system-level performance targets that guide the full IC development process. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring both deep technical expertise and the ability to communicate and collaborate across circuit design, digital architecture, software, and product teams. You will be expected to drive architectural decisions with clarity and conviction, grounded in first principles and shaped by a thorough understanding of the constraints and trade-offs inherent in high-volume silicon development., Define and develop analog front-end (AFE) and mixed-signal ASIC architectures for high-performance, low-power touch sensing applications Author detailed micro-architecture specifications, performance analyses, and characterization plans that serve as the technical foundation for IC development Build high-level behavioral models to evaluate architectural trade-offs and validate system performance against product requirements Lead cross-disciplinary trade-off assessments spanning power, performance, area, and manufacturability across process corners Contribute technical expertise to strategic roadmap planning and technology investment decisions Partner with circuit design, digital architecture, software, and product teams to ensure seamless system integration Perform root cause analysis and drive resolution of silicon performance issues from bench characterization through mass production Minimal business travel as needed to support product development ## Related Videos - [The Billion Dollar Machine: First Time Right.](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/393-the-billion-dollar-machine-first-time-right) - [Leveraging Large Language Models for Legacy Code Translation: Challenges and Solutions](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1157-leveraging-large-language-models-for-legacy-code-translation-challenges-and-solutions) - [Perfect Pitch: Unveiling the Mathematical Symphony Behind a Guitar Tuner](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1095-perfect-pitch-unveiling-the-mathematical-symphony-behind-a-guitar-tuner) - [Building a hypercar from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/607-building-a-hypercar-from-scratch) - [Strange New Worlds: shaping the future of the digital age](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/677-strange-new-worlds-shaping-the-future-of-the-digital-age) - [The age of agency: When products start to think and act](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1925-the-age-of-agency-when-products-start-to-think-and-act) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 201: Don't Stop Thinking, AI Slop vs. OSS Security, Rank Things](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/674-dev-digest-201-don-t-stop-thinking-ai-slop-vs-oss-security-rank-things) - [How to Become an AI Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/331-how-to-become-an-ai-engineer) - [Software Developer Salary in Austria [2023]](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/213-software-developer-salary-in-austria-2023) - [Dev Digest 166: Sycophancy, Zip bombs and AI Native Development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/585-dev-digest-166-sycophancy-zip-bombs-and-ai-native-development) - [Why Event-Driven Architecture Isn’t About Speed (and When You Actually Need It)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/745-why-event-driven-architecture-isn-t-about-speed-and-when-you-actually-need-it) - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology)
