## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
 * At least five years of job-related application engineering experience gained through professional, academic, or project-based work.
 * At least five years of job-related experience using data-acquisition and data-analysis tools to evaluate technical system performance.
 * Experience applying engineering principles in professional motorsport, Formula SAE, or another environment involving comparable vehicle systems, controls, data acquisition, and trackside or field support., * Technical Account and Lifecycle Management Experience in technical account management or another customer-facing technical role, including documenting customer requirements and supporting system application, issue resolution, and validation.
 * Customer Communication Ability to communicate job-related technical information clearly to customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
 * Controls Development Experience with internal-combustion-engine, hybrid, or battery-electric powertrain controls or chassis-control development, such as traction control, torque vectoring, or energy-recovery-system integration.
 * System Design and Analysis Experience designing, applying, or troubleshooting vehicle systems and implementing solutions within established project or operational timelines.
 * Network and Protocol Architecture Knowledge of wired or wireless network architectures, including the design, configuration, or troubleshooting of CAN- and Ethernet-based systems.
 * Testing and Prototyping Systems Experience using prototyping, simulation, or test equipment, such as dSPACE or ETAS systems, oscilloscopes, or spectrum analyzers.
 * Software Architecture and Tool Design Experience designing or implementing software tools using MATLAB, Python, C#, or a comparable language for data processing, simulation, or test automation.
 * Technical Guidance and Coordination Experience providing job-related technical guidance, documenting best practices, or coordinating work across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

## Description

The Motorsport Customer Application Engineer serves as a primary technical contact at customer facilities and race tracks, supporting the development, integration, validation, and optimization of motorsport electronic systems and software. The role requires the ability to perform the essential functions in fast-paced work environments and to travel domestically and internationally approximately 50-80 days per year.

 * Customer Application and Program Coordination Provide on-site application engineering support for motorsport products, including engine controllers, vehicle control units, displays, power distribution units, and telemetry modules, at customer facilities and race tracks. Gather and document technical requirements, support project schedule development, and coordinate customer-facing track activities with internal development teams.
 * Customer and Team Technical Support Serve as a technical point of contact at track locations for supported race teams. Diagnose and resolve system-level issues within the scope of the role and coordinate with customers and internal teams regarding approved parameter changes.
 * Controls and Hybrid Strategy Development Develop and document control strategies for internal-combustion-engine and hybrid powertrains, including hybrid energy recovery systems, torque coordination, and related control algorithms.
 * Vehicle Electrical Architecture Develop and validate vehicle electrical and communication network topologies, including analog signals, digital signals, CAN, and Ethernet configurations, in accordance with defined technical requirements.
 * Simulation and Virtual Development Develop, maintain, and execute virtual simulation environments using Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop, and Driver-in-the-Loop methods to validate controls and support trackside system setup.
 * Software Tools and Standards Develop and maintain internal software tools and scripts using MATLAB, Python, C#, or comparable technologies. Contribute to documented coding standards and software architecture practices.
 * Technical Knowledge Sharing Provide job-related technical guidance, share documented best practices, and support knowledge transfer among engineering team members.
 * Domestic and International Travel Travel domestically and internationally approximately 50-80 days per year to provide application engineering support at customer facilities, test tracks, race tracks, and development locations.
