What you'll own Build and maintain software · Implement modular, maintainable code in software applications by following technical design documents and sprint stories. · Maintain existing product lines through functional enhancements, bug fixes, code optimization, and related improvements with appropriate guidance. · Create and update unit or integration tests, investigate defects, and escalate risks or blockers early. Collaborate through Agile delivery · Participate in planning, refinement, estimation, stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews to support predictable delivery. · Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners to clarify requirements, share progress, and deliver solutions. · Assume ownership of assigned feature stories and tasks while seeking feedback from senior engineers and the System Architect. Learn and apply engineering practices · Build practical knowledge of the software development life cycle, Agile practices, object-oriented design, microservices, and relational and non-relational databases. · Adapt to new technologies in support of project needs and direction from senior engineers and the System Architect. · Develop solution-focused proofs of concept or technical evaluations when requested and communicate appropriate recommendations. Support quality, documentation, and customers · Keep technical documentation current as requirements and sprint deliverables change. · Provide second-level support for technical support staff by helping investigate customer issues and contributing to root-cause resolution. · Share knowledge, participate in cross-training, and contribute to a respectful, collaborative team environment.
