You will work closely with the Satellite Software Architect, Embedded Software Engineers, and EE/FPGA engineers to embed security into the architecture from the start rather than bolting it on afterwards, and with satellite operators and V&V teams to make sure security requirements are actually verified and hold up in operations. Key Activities * Define and own the satellite cybersecurity architecture, covering on-board software, unit-level firmware, and the interfaces between units; * Establish secure coding standards and development best practices (e.g. secure SDLC, code review guidelines, static/dynamic analysis) and support software teams in applying them; * Design and implement secure boot and trusted execution methodologies and flows across our on-board computers and units; * Define and own the strategy and processes for cryptographic key management: generation, distribution, storage, rotation, and revocation across satellite platforms and missions; * Perform threat modeling and security risk assessments on satellite software and communication links (TT&C, payload data links), and define mitigations; * Define security requirements at satellite and unit level, and ensure they are traceable and verified through the V&V process; * Collaborate with the Satellite Software Architect, Embedded Software Engineers, and FPGA/EE engineers to embed security into architectural and design decisions from the start; * Coordinate with satellite operators and ground-segment IT security teams to make sure security is maintained consistently from on-board software to ground infrastructure; * Stay current on emerging space cybersecurity threats and standards, and continuously improve Aerospacelab's security posture based on lessons learnt. ## Related Videos - [Data is Key: Scraping Metadata from Websites](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/708-data-is-key-scraping-metadata-from-websites) - [Playing Pong on a shoulder press machine](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100140-playing-pong-on-a-shoulder-press-machine) - [Security Pitfalls for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/726-security-pitfalls-for-software-engineers) - [Agent Smith Gets Hardware: Autonomous IoT Hacking From Debug Port to Cloud API](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100258-agent-smith-gets-hardware-autonomous-iot-hacking-from-debug-port-to-cloud-api) - [Cybersecurity for Software Defined Vehicles](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/725-cybersecurity-for-software-defined-vehicles) - [Offline first!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/645-offline-first) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 134 - Where pixels sing?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/477-dev-digest-134-where-pixels-sing) - [9 Ways to Make Money Hacking](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/333-9-ways-to-make-money-hacking) - [Dev Digest 138 - Are you secure about this?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/486-dev-digest-138-are-you-secure-about-this) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Walking Into The Era of Supply Chain Risks](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/106-walking-into-the-era-of-supply-chain-risks) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers)
