Python, TypeScript, Node, React or something else entirely can all work. The bigger question is whether you can understand the problem, architect the right system and use modern AI tooling to build it quickly. Computer vision experience would be a strong bonus, but isn't essential. They'd be particularly interested in people who have previously worked with areas such as: * Object recognition or detection * Image or screen segmentation * OCR * Scene understanding * Vision-language models / VLMs * Multimodal embeddings * Visual entity extraction * Embedding-based matching or search * SLAM or 3D scene understanding You do not need to be a career computer vision specialist. Even meaningful vision exposure within a broader software or AI engineering role could be useful. The ideal shape is a strong generalist, with one of the hires ideally bringing enough prior vision knowledge to help own that part of the product too. Gaming matters too. You don't need thousands of hours in a particular title, but you should have a real connection to gaming and understand the audience they're building for. Ideally you still play regularly, although someone who played heavily earlier in life and now has less time would absolutely still be considered. The team is small and there isn't currently bandwidth to closely manage junior engineers, so you need to be comfortable owning problems, specs and architecture yourself. They're based in central London and typically work 3 days a week in the office + days remote, with some flexibility depending on business needs. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to be early in an ambitious AI company, shape the architecture from the ground up and work in a team that is aggressively experimenting with how software engineering changes in an agentic world. ## Description They're now looking for an AI Software Engineer to join a small, high-calibre engineering team and help shape how the product is built from here. This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed tickets and asked to implement isolated features. You'll be given problems and expected to work out how the system should be designed end-to-end: what components are needed, how they interact, where agents should sit, what needs to happen at runtime and how to ship the solution into production. The team works at the cutting edge of agentic software development. Engineers regularly have multiple coding agents running in parallel across different parts of the stack, with the role increasingly becoming a combination of system architecture, product engineering and managing AI coding agents rather than traditional line-by-line coding. ## Related Videos - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr! : Getting Started with Cypress in ReactJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/282-watch-tests-go-brrrr-getting-started-with-cypress-in-reactjs) - [Stop using Node.js like in 2020!
