Strong REST API design/development skills including validation, error handling, versioning, security, and contract management. Experience with workflow orchestration, business-process automation, and re-platforming legacy business logic. Working knowledge of Oracle SQL/PLSQL sufficient to design efficient data interactions and collaborate with DBA staff. Experience implementing or validating authentication/authorization mechanisms such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, or equivalent. Experience with unit/integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, static analysis, dependency scanning, and containerized delivery. ## Description We are seeking a Middleware Engineer to design, implement, secure, and support the service layer connecting the Angular front end, legacy/external systems, and Oracle data tier. The role re-platforms legacy business logic into maintainable services, owns API implementation and integration behavior, and supports automated testing and DevSecOps delivery., Design and implement lightweight, maintainable services and APIs supporting efficient interaction between UI, business processes, external systems, and Oracle data. Extract and re-platform appropriate legacy business logic into middleware/services while preserving functional behavior and auditability. Implement validation, workflow orchestration, authorization checks, error handling, transaction boundaries, logging, and observability in the service layer. Define and maintain API contracts, interface documentation, versioning, backward-compatibility expectations, and integration test support. Collaborate with the Technical Lead and DBA to place business logic appropriately and optimize database interactions. Implement automated unit and integration tests and support QA automation for APIs and end-to-end workflows. Integrate middleware components into CI/CD pipelines, addressing code quality, static analysis, security, dependency, and test failures. Troubleshoot production-like integration, performance, authentication, transaction, and data-consistency issues. Support migration, release, rollback, configuration, and environment-readiness activities for middleware components. Core Technical Skills Java/Spring Boot and/or .NET and/or Oracle SOA/BPEL/composites. REST API architecture, JSON, integration patterns, workflow orchestration, and authentication/authorization. Oracle integration, SQL awareness, transaction design, error handling, logging/observability.
