The Software Engineering Supervisor provides direct supervision to the software development team of engineers for new products, enhancements, and defect resolution. This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO. All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity. What you'll be responsible for: + Directly supervises the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of software solutions. + Oversees the definition and documentation of business and technical design requirements. Oversees the preparation of technical design specifications, analysis, and recommendations. + Ensures all software solutions and enhancements are fully tested, debugged, and meet product quality standards prior to release to QA. + Determines practicality of ideas based on projected costs and sales potential. + Ensures clarity on our technology strategy and identifies improvements needed at the strategic level to drive the teams forward + Assists with coding, debugging, and other similar development-related activities. + May provide guidance for escalated issues. + May prepare periodic performance appraisals of direct reports and submits to the department manager. + May participate in the recruiting and training processes and contribute information for the preparation of annual department budgets. + May perform other job duties as assigned.
