Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and OSS tools in the Observability space. Proficiency in one of Java, Rust is desirable. Familiarity with Kubernetes on Linux is a plus. BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field. Minimum Qualifications Experience and insight into designing, implementing and supporting highly scalable infrastructure services. 5 to 15 years of industry experience in building and maintaining backend distributed systems. Deep understanding of core computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, and concurrent programming. Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities. Passion for developing and testing clear, robust code. Ability to learn and apply new technologies and frameworks. Great communication skills. ## Description The ASE Observability team is responsible for designing, building, and operating the core observability platforms that enable engineering organizations at Apple to monitor, debug, and optimize infrastructure and systems at scale. We develop platform solutions that provide comprehensive visibility into application performance, system health, and operational metrics across the entire technology stack., Your responsibilities will include : Requirement gathering across cross functional teams Developing practical, fault-tolerant high-performance distributed systems. Leading and participating in technical design discussions across cross functional teams. Gain in-depth understanding of the observability domain and come up with creative ideas in the domain. Willingness to lead an independent research in the field of work. Mentor other engineers in the team. You will have the courage and experience to be frank and ambitious but humble enough to listen to others.
