This position combines systems-engineering expertise with acquisition and program-management support for the development, integration, delivery, and sustainment of advanced airborne electronic-attack capabilities. These capabilities enable U.S. and allied forces to detect, deny, degrade, deceive, disrupt, and counter adversary use of the electromagnetic spectrum while improving aircraft survivability and operational mission effectiveness. The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of tactical jamming systems, aircraft-mounted electronic-warfare equipment, mission-system hardware and software, advanced capability-development efforts, and related platform-integration activities. The candidate will work across engineering, acquisition, test, logistics, airworthiness, cybersecurity, contracting, financial management, and fleet-support organizations to deliver effective capabilities in response to current and emerging threats. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Provide systems-engineering support throughout the DoD and NAVAIR acquisition life cycles. * Support the development, integration, modification, verification, validation, delivery, and sustainment of airborne electronic-attack systems. * Apply systems-engineering principles to tactical jamming systems, electronic-warfare equipment, mission systems, sensors, avionics, software, firmware, aircraft interfaces, and support equipment. * Support the integration of externally mounted and internally installed electronic-warfare capabilities across manned and unmanned aviation platforms. * Analyze technical requirements, system specifications, interface documentation, engineering changes, architectures, and performance data. * Support requirements development, allocation, traceability, verification, validation, and configuration management. * Evaluate system performance, interoperability, electromagnetic compatibility, aircraft-integration constraints, and technical risks. * Assess the effects of proposed engineering changes on system performance, platform interfaces, cost, schedule, safety, logistics, airworthiness, and fleet operations. * Coordinate technical activities among government engineering teams, original equipment manufacturers, prime contractors, laboratories, test organizations, platform program offices, fleet representatives, and international partners. * Support the NAVAIR airworthiness process for new electronic-warfare systems, aircraft modifications, hardware and software changes, and capability upgrades. Airborne Electronic-Attack Mission Support * Support the acquisition and delivery of airborne electronic-attack capabilities that enable operational forces to control and exploit the electromagnetic spectrum. * Support systems designed to detect, identify, deny, degrade, deceive, disrupt, or counter adversary radar, communications, targeting, and integrated air-defense capabilities. * Evaluate EW system requirements, radio-frequency performance, system interfaces, platform impacts, power and cooling requirements, software dependencies, and operational considerations. * Support advanced electronic-warfare capability development intended to address emerging threats and evolving operational requirements. * Coordinate technical and programmatic activities involving hardware, software, firmware, mission data, threat libraries, electronic-attack techniques, and aircraft interfaces. * Coordinate with electronic-warfare subject-matter experts, intelligence organizations, warfare centers, laboratories, operational test organizations, platform offices, and fleet users. * Support the transition of capabilities from science and technology or advanced development into formal acquisition, testing, production, deployment, and sustainment. * Help ensure electronic-attack capabilities remain operationally relevant against rapidly changing threat systems and electromagnetic-spectrum environments. Acquisition and Program Analysis * Support program planning and execution in accordance with DoD acquisition policies, the Adaptive Acquisition Framework, and applicable Department of the Navy and NAVAIR guidance. * Support multiple acquisition efforts at different life-cycle stages, including technology maturation, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, modernization, and sustainment. * Track acquisition requirements, contract deliverables, technical milestones, schedules, funding actions, risks, issues, dependencies, and performance metrics. * Analyze cost, schedule, performance, and technical information to identify trends, execution challenges, and potential program risks. * Support the development and maintenance of acquisition documentation, program plans, integrated master schedules, technical roadmaps, spend plans, budget materials, and leadership briefings. * Manage multiple concurrent assignments involving different electronic-warfare systems, acquisition phases, contractors, and government stakeholders. * Support production readiness, delivery planning, fleet introduction, training, logistics demonstrations, and operational deployment. * Evaluate sustainment requirements, obsolescence risks, diminishing manufacturing sources, support-equipment needs, and future modernization priorities. * Assist with maintaining configuration control and technical baselines across development, production, deployed, and international system configurations. * Support efforts to improve system readiness, mission availability, affordability, maintainability, and life-cycle performance. ## Related Videos - [Crew Management System for Airlines: Plan duties for pilots & flight attendants worldwide](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1444-crew-management-system-for-airlines-plan-duties-for-pilots-flight-attendants-worldwide) - [Thinking Differently - How to Make Money from Cyber Attacks & Cheats](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/745-thinking-differently-how-to-make-money-from-cyber-attacks-cheats) - [Playing Pong on a shoulder press machine](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100140-playing-pong-on-a-shoulder-press-machine) - [Agile work at CARIAD – Creating a customer web application for controlling the vehicle ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/200-agile-work-at-cariad-creating-a-customer-web-application-for-controlling-the-vehicle) - [Cyber Security: Small, and Large!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/259-cyber-security-small-and-large) - [Agent Smith Gets Hardware: Autonomous IoT Hacking From Debug Port to Cloud API](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100258-agent-smith-gets-hardware-autonomous-iot-hacking-from-debug-port-to-cloud-api) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Dev Digest 134 - Where pixels sing?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/477-dev-digest-134-where-pixels-sing) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Best Paying Jobs in Technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/256-best-paying-jobs-in-technology) - [What’s the Difference between a Junior, Mid, and Senior Developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/238-what-s-the-difference-between-a-junior-mid-and-senior-developer) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers)
