Job Duties: This position leads and mentors a team of data analysts in all aspects of data analysis, SQL application development, data integrity, data conformity, and identifying data variation or semantic drift. Responsibilities include analyzing data to ensure tables and records are complete and accurate, identifying missing values, incorrect formats, or drift, and implementing solutions to improve data completeness, accuracy, and validity. The role establishes and enforces policies for organizing, naming, storing, and validating data, and helps build systems that make data accessible, reliable, and easy to use. It involves developing or enhancing SQL applications and tools that interact with data, selecting and configuring technologies for storing, moving, and analyzing data, and creating databases, dashboards, and other tools that support organizational needs. The position studies trends, identifies patterns, prepares clear summaries and reports, and provides actionable recommendations based on findings. It collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to understand information needs and ensure delivered data is accurate, relevant, and user friendly. The role builds visuals and models to communicate insights effectively and ensures all confidential or sensitive data is protected and handled according to agency rules and state requirements. Additional duties include supervising, training, and supporting data team members, helping them prioritize work, and developing their skills.
