This role converts customer, vehicle, system, product, safety, and regulatory needs into complete and verifiable software solutions., * Develop, review, approval, and release of software architecture and requirements specifications. * Analyze customer, stakeholder, vehicle, system, safety, and regulatory requirements and decompose them into software-level requirements, architectural constraints, interfaces, and verification criteria. * Develop and maintain software architecture models that define: + Software components and responsibilities + Functional allocation + Internal and external interfaces + Data and control flows + Operating modes and state behavior + Network communication + Timing, performance, memory, and resource constraints + Fault detection, diagnostics, and degraded-operation behavior * Preform architectural trade studies and recommend solutions based on functionality, performance, reliability, safety, cybersecurity, maintainability, reuse, implementation complexity, and lifecycle cost. * Define standard software interfaces between vehicle controllers, displays, sensors, actuators, gateways, controls applications, and external systems. * Participate in design reviews and document findings, risks, actions, and recommendations. * Support safety analyses such as Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis. * Work with systems engineers, controls engineers, developers, and functional safety engineers to develop software and system safety architectures. * Work with implementation teams to clarify requirements, interfaces, safety constraints, and architectural intent. * Review supplier requirements, software architecture, detailed designs, verification plans, and compliance evidence. * Assess the technical impact of proposed changes across software components, interfaces, safety analyses, verification activities, vehicle functions, and dependent systems. * Apply model-based systems and software engineering methods, including UML and SysML, where appropriate. * Build consensus across software, systems, controls, hardware, safety, cybersecurity, test, manufacturing, service, and supplier organizations. * Manage multiple priorities and complete assigned projects or portions of projects within established schedule and budget objectives., * Internal Contacts: Contact with peers and others involving explanation of information (these contacts may be within or outside department or division), and the gathering of factual information; may include the communication of sensitive or confidential information. * External Contacts: External contact to gather information, answer queries, or ask assistance. * Communication Skills: Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Write routine reports, correspondence and speak effectively before both internal and external groups; Read, analyze and interpret business manuals, technical procedures and/or government regulations: Read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. * Decision-Making: Significant responsibility for decisions and final results, affecting more than one function or a function with multiple units.
