Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # algorithm scientist - **Company:** Ouraring Inc. - **Location:** San Diego, CA, United States - **Experience:** Expert - **Salary:** $158,950.0 - $187,000.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Data Analysis, Collaborative Software, Firmware, Python (Programming Language), Machine Learning, Signal Processing, Git, Asynchronous Programming - **Published:** September 4, 2026 - **Apply:** https://startup.jobs/senior-algorithm-scientist-oura-company-8301788 ## About the Role We would love to have you on our team if you have: * PhD degree with three years of work experience OR MSc degree with five years of work experience in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, neural engineering or a related field * 3+ years of solid programming skills in Python and experience with code collaboration tools (git, peer review, etc) * Experience with signal processing methods and time-series analysis (FIR/IIR filters, Kalman filtering, adaptive filtering, stochastic processes, etc) * Experience with biosignal sensing and wearable hardware (including hardware prototypes) is a plus * A pragmatic can-do attitude and delivery-focused mindset: you can move quickly and prioritize effectively * Flexible schedule and good asynchronous communication skills to work with Oura's Finnish teams (early morning meetings two to three times a week) * This role is based in San Diego, with at least three days in office (at our Carmel Mountain location). ## Description * Contribute to the research, development and deployment of signal processing and machine learning algorithms for Oura features/products based on a range of sensing modalities * Conduct early stage exploratory research to identify and characterize new potential sensing features and functionality.
