The front desk of a specialty clinic is a high-stakes environment where every missed call or delayed refill impacts patient care. It's broken. We're fixing it. Taxo builds the definitive Voice AI agent for specialty healthcare - handling patient intake, complex scheduling, prescription refills, and triage with human-level nuance. Our agents integrate deeply with EHR/PMS systems and are tailored to each provider's unique clinical workflows, so patients get fast, accurate answers instead of hold music. The Opportunity: From 0 to Global Scale We aren't just "testing the waters." We've secured major agreements with conglomerate healthcare groups across the US, UK, and KSA. The demand is massive, the contracts are signed, and we need to build - fast. As our Founding Engineer, you won't just be writing code - you'll be architecting the backbone of a global healthcare platform. You'll have a massive stake in the product direction, the culture, and the technical legacy of Taxo. What You'll Do * Ship 0 * 1: Transform complex healthcare workflows into seamless, automated voice experiences. Design, build, and scale the core voice AI platform from real-time speech processing to intelligent call routing. * Architect for Scale: Build systems capable of serving hundreds of thousands of patients across three continents. Own the infrastructure that makes sub-second response times possible at global volume. * Product Engineering: Act as a true partner in product discovery - knowing when to build for perfection and when to ship for speed. Collaborate directly with the founder and healthcare professionals to translate complex clinical SOPs into intelligent agent behaviors. * Integrate Deep: Develop and fine-tune integrations with EHR/PMS systems, ensuring seamless data flow between our voice agents and provider systems. * Set the Standard: Establish engineering best practices, from CI/CD pipelines to AI integration patterns. Build for HIPAA, SOC 2, and the operational rigor that healthcare demands. * Shape the Company: Influence engineering culture, hiring, and technical standards as the team grows around you. The Stack We move fast with a modern, scalable toolkit: * Frontend: React, Next.js * Backend: Node.js (TypeScript) * Data & Infrastructure: Postgres, Redis, AWS, Terraform * Intelligence: Leading-edge LLMs and Voice AI integration ## Related Videos - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Reducing LLM Calls with Vector Search Patterns - Raphael De Lio (Redis)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1714-reducing-llm-calls-with-vector-search-patterns-raphael-de-lio-redis) - [Getting under the skin: The Social Engineering techniques](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/38-getting-under-the-skin-the-social-engineering-techniques) - [Shipping Faster with Less: Render on Cloud Hosting, AI Workloads, and the Future of DevOps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1894-shipping-faster-with-less-render-on-cloud-hosting-ai-workloads-and-the-future-of-devops) - [Nest.js - TypeScript in the backend can also be clean](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1033-nest-js-typescript-in-the-backend-can-also-be-clean) - [Accelerating Authentication Architecture: Taking Passwordless to the Next Level](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/733-accelerating-authentication-architecture-taking-passwordless-to-the-next-level) ## Related Articles - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [The Best X (Twitter) Accounts for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/294-the-best-x-twitter-accounts-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 137 - AI'm not sure about this](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/485-dev-digest-137-ai-m-not-sure-about-this) - [Coffee with Developers - Maria Apazoglou - Making AI understandable for all in production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/475-coffee-with-developers-maria-apazoglou-making-ai-understandable-for-all-in-production) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
