## About the Role

This role requires heavy and consistent travel to a variety of assessment sites throughout the United States. You must be able to commit to traveling at least 3 weeks a month., * ISA Certified Arborist credential, or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire

 * Degree in forestry, natural resources, horticulture, or a related field (in progress or completed)
 * Ability to identify North American tree species by common and botanical name, leaf-on and leaf-off
 * Familiarity with biotic and abiotic defects across species
 * Knowledge of urban tree growth habits and landscape use
 * Experience with GIS desktop software (ESRI or open source)
 * Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods while using a tablet
 * Flexibility to meet daily and weekly tree inventory quotas
 * Ability to travel for up to two weeks at a time; valid driver's license required
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills

## Description

PlanIT Geo delivers tree inventories and in-field assessment services to public and private clients across the country. As a Tree Inventory Technician, you'll travel to project sites to map and analyze trees, planting locations, and other natural resources using our proprietary software, TreePlotter., * Collect individual tree locations via mobile tools from aerial imagery in the field

 * Assess trees across a comprehensive range of attributes, including species, condition, height, crown spread, defects, risk factors, and site data
 * Train clients on tree inventory software
 * Produce reports and delivery files
