We own the AI-powered developer workflows, cloud development environments, and internal developer platform the whole engineering org builds on. We're small and senior: a four-person team in Productivity Engineering, alongside Mobile Infra, Frontend Infrastructure, and Design Systems Engineering. We partner closely with engineers across the company to find their pain points and ship solutions. You can read more about our engineering culture on the Thumbtack Engineering Blog., * Design and build the product surfaces engineers and AI agents reach for daily: self-service workflows in our Backstage developer portal, our developer CLI, IDE integrations, and the framework engineers use to build and deploy their own agents. * Own and evolve our Cloud Development Environment (CDE) platform for both human developers and AI agents. * Improve the build systems, CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and observability the whole org depends on. * Prototype and evaluate new AI developer tools as they land, and decide what to adopt, configure, and scale across the engineering org. ## Related Videos - [Diving into Developer Experience](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1120-diving-into-developer-experience) - [A Brief History of Data Storage](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/974-a-brief-history-of-data-storage) - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr! : Getting Started with Cypress in ReactJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/282-watch-tests-go-brrrr-getting-started-with-cypress-in-reactjs) - [Do TypeScript without TypeScript](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/327-do-typescript-without-typescript) - [TypeScript Features That Changed the Game](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100061-typescript-features-that-changed-the-game) - [Forget Developer Platforms, Think Developer Productivity!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1121-forget-developer-platforms-think-developer-productivity) ## Related Articles - [Why developer experience matters](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/514-why-developer-experience-matters) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Dev Digest 132 - Binging WADFlix?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/473-dev-digest-132-binging-wadflix) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again)
