We are looking for an individual who can work alongside technicians and engineers, understand how a component or vehicle is being assembled or modified, identify important process details, and then create documentation that allows another technician to accurately repeat that process., If you have hands-on automotive build experience and the ability to turn technical processes into clear, effective work instructions and documentation, we encourage you to apply. ## Description Troy Design & Manufacturing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, is seeking an Automotive Build Technician / Technical Documentation Specialist to support vehicle programs in a Tier 2 OEM environment. This is a unique hybrid position combining hands-on automotive build capabilities with technical writing and process documentation responsibilities. The ideal candidate understands how vehicles and components are assembled, modified, tested, and repaired-and can translate that hands-on knowledge into clear, accurate work instructions, build procedures, SOPs, and process documentation for technicians, engineers, and production teams. This position will work closely with engineering and build teams, both participating in and observing technical processes to ensure that build procedures are properly documented, repeatable, and easy for technicians to follow. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked as an automotive or prototype build technician and have experience creating work instructions, service procedures, technical manuals, SOPs, or other process documentation.
