## About the Role

* 6+ years of experience building backend services with 2+ of those years in a technical leadership capacity (mentoring junior engineers, scoping technical projects, etc.)
 * Experience with Microservice or Service-oriented Architectures
 * Experience building within the Node.js ecosystem
 * Experience using gRPC, protobuf, or GraphQL
 * Experience managing AWS environments (GCP is a plus)
 * Experience with working with relational databases
 * Experience with message queues or event streams
 * Experience in the financial and rewards tech industry is a plus
 * Experience proactively working with modern AI-enhanced development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) and a curiosity for emerging AI workflows

What your day to day will look like

 * Use new and modern technology to build new features and services across our microservice architecture
 * Write thoughtful & quality code that is readable, testable, and easily maintainable
 * Create data-driven and stable APIs for our mobile apps to consume
 * Strive for excellent development practices and careful code architecture that is built around rapid releases
 * Work cross-functionally with all mobile and backend engineers, and product teams to consistently release high-quality, customer-focused features
 * Adhere to, and improve upon, our agile process through requirement documents, sprint retrospectives, and other regular cadence meetings
