Candidate must have Bachelor's degree Candidate must have an active/current 8140 IAT II certification. Candidate must have at 6+ years of related experience with the following: Building applications in Java Understanding of REST APIs, data structures, and backend best practices. Thymeleaf and various Thymeleaf modules Spring Boot framework for backend development. Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, application refactoring, database migration, and SaaS integration. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) Working with relational and non-relational DBs. Working in Cloud Architectures such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud. Written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail. CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, Ansible, JFrog Artifactory.) Understands Git/Gitbash,Git Etiquette, and branching strategy Desired skills, abilities and knowledge Experience working in an Agile environment. (highly desired) Experience working with PowerBuilder Experience collaborating with remote teams Experience working within DoD or USAF (highly desired) Experience using AI code-conversion tools Experience with Agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex, including best practices and effective usage strategies ## Description Designs, develops, and assists in securing scalable application modules using Java and Thymeleaf. Uses AI conversion tools and manual conversion methods to translate legacy PowerBuilder application modules to a modern Java-based code baseline. Collaborates with the customer team to review technical specifications, ensure testing is smooth and deliver high-quality code. Contributes expert insights to improve application performance, reliability, and security. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. Document technical processes and solutions with clear, concise written communication. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems as needed. Works within Agile SDLC framework to include performing work activity within two- to three-week sprints, participating in daily scrums, and utilizing sprint tracking software to track and communicate individual work activity to stakeholders. Works within a DevSecOps delivery model, embedding security and quality controls into the pipeline rather than handling them downstream. Helps maintain automated CI/CD pipelines that build, test, scan, and deploy code. Responds to automated security tooling (SAST, DAST, and software composition analysis), triaging findings and remediating vulnerabilities within established timeframes. Writes automated unit and integration tests sufficient to support continuous delivery and meet coverage thresholds.
