Nice to haves * Cloud Experience: AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure cloud infrastructure management. * Networking Fundamentals: Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and load balancing concepts. * Security: Understanding of cloud and infrastructure security best practices. * Performance Tuning: Experience tuning application or infrastructure performance in production environments. ## Description As a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer at AKASA, you'll work closely with our Infrastructure and Platform teams to manage, improve, and scale the systems that power our products. Your focus will be on ensuring our infrastructure is reliable, observable, and easy to operate - with an emphasis on automation, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll help build and maintain the foundational infrastructure that supports our SaaS applications, including Kubernetes, Terraform-managed cloud resources, and GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines. While incident response is part of the role, the primary focus is on proactive improvements: reducing operational toil, improving visibility into system behavior, and enabling product teams to move fast with confidence. You'll also contribute to monitoring and observability efforts, ensuring our systems are well-instrumented and that we can detect issues before they impact customers. You'll collaborate with software engineers to embed reliability best practices across the development lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of hands-on engineering, systems design, automation, and technical mentorship. The AKASA office is located in South San Francisco. While we support remote work on a variety of teams, we have a strong Bay Area presence across the company. The local R&D teams come into the office every Wednesday for co-working days, which this role will be expected to attend.
