## About the Role

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Ursa Major, you will design, develop, and maintain the software powering our engines, vehicles, and avionics systems. You will be part of a small, high-impact team building flight software at the cutting edge of reliability, safety, and performance. This role requires a detail-oriented, self-driven engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and advancing the state of the art in aerospace., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related field

 * 4+ years of professional experience in embedded C/C++ development for ARM, SoC, or FPGA softcore platforms
 * Hands-on experience with hardware interface programming (timers, interrupts, communication protocols, ADCs, etc.)
 * Proficiency reading schematics and debugging with hardware tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
 * Experience using version control systems such as Git
 * Ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative settings, managing multiple priorities

Desirable Experience:

 * Experience with software development standards such as RTCA DO-178
 * Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and/or other scripting languages
 * Exposure to continuous integration, automated build/test, and hardware-in-the-loop systems
 * Understanding of FPGA development and HDL
 * Experience with RTOS and/or Linux-based embedded systems
 * Familiarity with controls engineering (sensors, actuators, and motors)

## Description

* Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for avionics throughout the product lifecycle
 * Develop and maintain ground support software tools and systems
 * Collaborate cross-functionally to define and deliver new software features
 * Document designs, code, and procedures to ensure maintainability and compliance
 * Debug, optimize, and support software and hardware integration efforts
