In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers and designers to develop user-facing features and contribute to production systems. You will have experience building Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) applications, working with location services and map navigation, and integrating with external hardware and edge devices. You are performance obsessed where your applications handle large datasets efficiently such as millions of data points for wind and weather data, and render aviation instruments with precision and zero lag. You understand that EFB applications must remain fully operational in offline and degraded connectivity environments, and you know how to build for that reality. You'll grow your iOS expertise while working on real-time, safety critical applications where reliability and accuracy are non negotiable. What You'll Do * Design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS frameworks. * Build and maintain high performance mobile applications that handle large datasets such as wind and weather data in real time. * Develop and integrate Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) features including location services, map navigation, and aviation instrument displays. * Integrate with external hardware and edge devices to support real time data ingestion and application functionality. * Architect offline-first experiences and graceful degradation strategies to ensure full application functionality in low or no connectivity environments. * Implement background processing and long-running compute tasks using Swift Concurrency, async/await, and background task APIs to support continuous data handling without impacting the user experience. * Apply data security best practices including Keychain storage, encryption, and secure data handling to protect sensitive flight and user data. * Collaborate with senior engineers and designers to deliver precise, reliable, and intuitive mobile experiences. * Participate in code reviews and follow established iOS best practices and architectural patterns. * Help ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability through testing and documentation. ## Related Videos - [SwiftUI In Production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/134-swiftui-in-production) - [From Zero to Mobile Developer in 45 Minutes With SwiftUI](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/183-from-zero-to-mobile-developer-in-45-minutes-with-swiftui) - [Edge AI on iOS: Beyond the Cloud, Designing the Next Generation of Intelligent On-Device Apps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100225-edge-ai-on-ios-beyond-the-cloud-designing-the-next-generation-of-intelligent-on-device-apps) - [Alibaba Big Data and Machine Learning Technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/37-alibaba-big-data-and-machine-learning-technology) - [Unsolved mysteries between Usability and Accessibility in iOS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/737-unsolved-mysteries-between-usability-and-accessibility-in-ios) - [Xcode development redefAIned](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100195-xcode-development-redefained) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [A Guide to Choosing the Right Tools for App Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/391-a-guide-to-choosing-the-right-tools-for-app-developers) - [Dev Digest 118 - not a total recall](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/452-dev-digest-118-not-a-total-recall) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [Basic And Advanced Networking in Dart and Flutter](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/112-basic-and-advanced-networking-in-dart-and-flutter) - [Dev Digest 139 - Soft and hard queries](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/487-dev-digest-139-soft-and-hard-queries)
