Work Environment

Join a team in the largest metals service center company in North America, serving a diverse range of industries such as space, aerospace, defense, and medical. Work with over 1500 product codes made from various alloys. The role is 100% onsite with hours from 8 to 5, and minimal overtime. The team currently consists of two other buyers and reports to the purchasing manager. ## Description

A buyer is responsible for providing administrative and purchasing support to the department and product managers with the daily operations of procuring material and managing inventory.
Responsibilities

 * Obtain quotes from mills, suppliers, and service subcontractors.
 * Assist with negotiating pricing of materials and services, excluding new vendor setup negotiations.
 * Review and adjust the status of incoming purchases.
 * Assist internal and external customers with questions.
 * Prepare and process quotes and purchase orders.
 * Resolve discrepancies in goods and services.
 * Receive material and process inventory requests.
 * Update pricing pages.
