This role is central to delivering standardized, scalable SCADA networking architecture across solar, wind, and BESS projects while ensuring seamless integration with ISO and owner platforms. You'll lead complex telemetry and control system integration efforts-from design through commissioning-while strengthening cybersecurity controls aligned with NERC CIP and internal standards. Your expertise will directly influence fleet-wide standards, long-term infrastructure reliability, and operational excellence across Intersect's growing portfolio. This role is planned to start in mid-Q1, with a four-week training period to reach full productivity by mid-Q2. Team Overview This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect's mission to accelerate the renewable energy transition by designing, building, and optimizing high-performing clean energy assets at scale. The Engineering team partners cross-functionally with Development, Construction, Asset Management, and Operations to deliver projects that are technically sound, secure, and built for long-term reliability. What You'll Do Design Secure, Scalable SCADA Network Architecture * Develop and standardize secure, scalable SCADA network architectures for utility-scale facilities operating within ERCOT. * Define industrial networking strategies including routing, switching, VLAN segmentation, fiber topology, and firewall design. * Establish documentation and configuration control standards to support fleet-wide consistency and long-term maintainability. Strengthen Cybersecurity & Compliance * Implement and maintain SCADA cybersecurity controls aligned with NERC CIP and company standards. * Configure firewalls, ACLs, and VPN/IPsec tunnels to protect critical infrastructure communications. * Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliant telemetry, ISO communications, and secure data acquisition systems. Lead System Integration & Commissioning * Oversee FAT, SAT, commissioning, and field support activities for complex telemetry and control systems. * Integrate inverters, BESS, meters, protective relays, PPCs, RTACs, and ERCOT interfaces into cohesive, high-performing systems. * Coordinate with EPCs, vendors, and owner platforms to ensure seamless telemetry and control functionality.
