In this role, you will support mission-unique software development for U.S. government programs, working across backend and frontend systems while also contributing to Quindar's core product. You do not need to be a satellite expert to succeed here. We are looking for a strong software engineer who is excited to build reliable, scalable systems in a mission-driven environment. This is a hybrid role based in Arvada, CO. What You'll Do * Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and cloud-native applications for satellite operations workflows. * Develop mission-specific software for U.S. government customers while contributing to Quindar's core product platform. * Design, integrate, and troubleshoot services using AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, RDS, Fargate, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDS. * Work across backend and frontend systems, including integration with React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and modern application frameworks. * Improve the scalability, security, cost efficiency, reliability, and performance of software used in satellite operations. * Build and support containerized and serverless architectures using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. * Collaborate with satellite operators, customers, product managers, frontend engineers, backend engineers, and other cross-functional partners to understand requirements and deliver new capabilities. * Troubleshoot production issues, analyze system behavior, and improve maintainability, resilience, and observability over time. * Automate development, deployment, and operational workflows to help teams move quickly and reliably. ## Related Videos - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [Leveraging Real time data in FSIs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/806-leveraging-real-time-data-in-fsis) - [Docker Compose: Rediscovered](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1978-docker-compose-rediscovered) - [Build and Deploy a Fullstack App with Open Source Tooling](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/775-build-and-deploy-a-fullstack-app-with-open-source-tooling) - [Git for Code Reviews](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/429-git-for-code-reviews) - [Navigating the Corporate Jungle: Life as a Developer in a large Company](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/621-navigating-the-corporate-jungle-life-as-a-developer-in-a-large-company) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [What’s the Difference Between Frontend and Backend Development?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/240-what-s-the-difference-between-frontend-and-backend-development) - [The Best Software Developer Blogs to Read](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/156-the-best-software-developer-blogs-to-read)
