## About the Role

* Experience in networking admin/design of VPN implementations using OpenVPN/OpenSwan, LAN/WAN/Firewall configuration on Cisco routers.

 * Experience installing and configuring application servers, e.g. Apache, Tomcat, Jboss and database/directory servers (MySQL, OpenDS).

 * B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related areas.

## Description

* Provide installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems software and related infrastructure.

 * Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required

 * Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.

 * Reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, both internally and externally.

 * Troubleshoot Linux, Apache, Java, JBOSS, OpenDS/LDAP and MySQL services. Knowledge of all layers of the OSI model, most importantly the network (layer 3) and application (layer 7).

 * Implement automated approaches for system administration tasks. Leverage our self-hosted Chef deployment.

 * Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, including repository management, system patching, and CLI configuration/administration.

 * Knowledge about DevOps Tools supporting Continuous Delivery - Chef, Bamboo, Vagrant, GIT, Maven, and Ant.

 * Expertise in various architect and support functions for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Cloud environments - AWS, Rackspace, Savvis, Terremark, and GoGrid.
