Basic understanding of operating systems, networking, and enterprise computing concepts. Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as REXX, Python, Java, C/C++, or similar. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated willingness to learn emerging technologies and enterprise infrastructure platforms. Preferred technical and professional experience Exposure to IBM Z, z/OS, Linux on IBM Z, or mainframe technologies through coursework, internships, labs, or personal projects. Familiarity with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, RACF, VTAM/TCPIP, or system automation concepts. Experience with automation, scripting, or DevOps methodologies. Understanding of infrastructure hosting, cloud technologies, or enterprise systems management. Experience with Git, GitHub, Agile methodologies, or CI/CD pipelines. Relevant industry certifications or technical training. ## Description Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of IBM Z infrastructure. Support z/OS operating system maintenance activities, including upgrades, service implementation, and testing. Monitor system performance and availability to ensure reliable and efficient operations. Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management activities. Support storage, networking, security, and middleware teams in maintaining a stable IBM Z environment. Develop automation and operational efficiencies using scripting and IBM tools. Assist in system documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
