## About the Role

* A Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, HBO ICT or similar);
 * Any relevant work experience is welcome - but study, internship and personal projects are also acceptable - as long as you are passionate about programming and software;
 * A high degree of curiosity - the type of person who sees a problem and won't stop until they understand it;
 * An independent work ethic: you figure things out on your own, and you know how to ask for help with the right context;
 * Good communication skills in English;
 * You are available to work in the office in Enschede at least 2 days a week (and ideally more during your onboarding phase);
 * Genuine enthusiasm over complex software and a reason why this company is the place you want to work at.

Experience in Kotlin, Go, AWS or GitLab is also welcome, but not required; we are happy to teach you all you need to know about our tech stack., We can only consider applications from Dutch, EU/EEA or Swiss citizens, or from individuals who already hold a valid residence and work permit for the Netherlands.

## Description

You'll join Helix as a full member of the team from day one. You will work with the product owner, developers, tester and team coach. We will make sure you get the best onboarding we can provide, adapting to your learning style and your level.

What that means in practice: you are a junior, not a spectator. You will work on real services, real integrations and real production software from the start. We will not expect you to know everything, though. You'll have experienced developers around you to review your work, answer questions and help you understand why things work the way they do.

Some of the things you'll be doing:

 * Developing and maintaining the microservices in our adapter domain;
 * Working with the development lead and your teammates to design and discuss solutions
 * Writing automated tests and taking part in peer code reviews
 * Assist our colleagues with questions and service requests
 * Shipping your own work through our CI/CD pipelines and helping keep our services healthy in production;
 * Joining the on-call rotation once you're up to speed;
 * Work on projects and improvements that you are enthusiastic about
