Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # System Engineer - **Company:** Innatera Nanosystems - **Location:** Netherlands - **Experience:** Experienced - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Apple Mac Systems, Ubuntu (Operating System), Configuration Management, Continuous Integration, Data Centers, Linux, DevOps, Distributed Data Store, Networking Hardware, Linux Distribution, Performance Tuning, Systems Development Life Cycle, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ansible, Software Engineering, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, VMware Infrastructure, Virtualization Technology, Ceph (Software), Gitlab-ci, Information Technology, Low Latency, Bare Metal, Hardware Acceleration, Hardware Infrastructure, Vmware - **Published:** September 5, 2026 - **Apply:** https://startup.jobs/linux-system-engineer-innatera-nanosystems-8805173 ## About the Role * 5+ years of experience managing complex, on-prem Linux compute environments, with a proven track record of supporting mission-critical R&D operations. * Experience building and maintaining automated provisioning workflows and configuration management frameworks using industry-standard tooling (Ansible, Cobbler, Uyuni, FreeIPA). * Proven proficiency in designing, maintaining, and integrating GitLab CI/CD pipelines within complex SDLC. * Good knowledge in the full lifecycle management of virtualized environments (VMware/Proxmox) and high-resiliency distributed storage clusters (Ceph/CephFS). * Experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimizing Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu) within bare-metal and virtual infrastructure * Solid foundation in managing end-user Linux systems, with a working knowledge of macOS and Windows environments, including hardware lifecycle support. * Proven experience in creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and structured technical documentation for complex IT infrastructure, system procedures, and architectural standards. * Comfortable with sprint work, with certain periods of high and low work variability Nice to have: * Knowledge of implementing and managing chip design tool installations within on-prem infrastructure, e.g., Cadence and Siemens tools, is a plus; * Experience in setting up and maintaining the NIS2 security standard.
