## About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage, Backup & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Jersey City - Hybrid
This role requires a blend of technical development, platform administration, and enterprise architecture domain expertise.
Years of experience needed atleast 6+ years of experience
Technical Skills

 * Strong proficiency with SAN/NAS technologies and enterprise storage protocols
 * Expert-level proficiency in backup and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including cyber resiliency practices (immutable/air-gapped backups, ransomware recovery)
 * Good understanding of data center environments and virtualization platforms, particularly VMware
 * Proficiency in cloud storage, cloud networking, and cloud security practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP
 * Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible and Terraform
 * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
 * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with security, infrastructure, and application teams

## Description

Design, deploy, and manage SAN/NAS storage infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability
Architect and administer storage protocols (e.g., iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB/CIFS) across the data center environment
Lead the design and implementation of backup and disaster recovery (DR) solutions with a strong focus on cyber resiliency (immutable backups, air-gapped/isolated recovery environments, ransomware protection strategies)
Manage and optimize data center infrastructure, including virtualization platforms such as VMware (vSphere, vSAN, etc.)
Design and implement cloud storage, cloud networking, and cloud security architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Ansible and Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration management
Develop and maintain DR runbooks, conduct regular DR testing/drills, and ensure recovery objectives (RTO/RPO) are met
Monitor storage and backup environments for performance, capacity planning, and proactive issue resolution
Collaborate with security, network, and application teams to ensure storage and backup architecture aligns with enterprise security and compliance requirements
Evaluate and recommend new storage, backup, and cloud technologies to improve resiliency, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures
Certifications Needed :
Relevant certifications (preferred, not mandatory): VMware VCP, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications, storage vendor certifications (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage), Veeam/Commvault/Rubrik or similar backup certifications, Senior Staff AI Engineer At Capital One, we are creating responsible and reliable AI systems, changing banking for good.
