* 3+ years of relevant software development experience
 * Proficiency in modern C++ with the ability to debug and extend embedded or firmware codebases

## Description

Roku pioneered streaming to the TV and continues to innovate and lead the industry. The Senior Software Engineer will contribute extensively to the embedded UI framework development, working closely with system architects to develop new features and extend current capabilities to improve system stability and performance. This role involves building and maintaining tools to improve the quality and consistency of Roku OS logging data, creating Python-based automation to extract, analyze, and validate log usage across large codebases, and developing offline pipelines for processing logs to support pre-merge validation and automated data contract generation. You will write and review C++ changes in embedded codebases to ensure accurate and reliable logging, and partner with UI infrastructure, firmware, and CI teams to integrate tooling into developer workflows. What are the responsibilities of the role?

 * Build and maintain tools to improve the quality and consistency of Roku OS logging data

 * Troubleshoot issues across pipelines and instrumentation, balancing scalability with maintainability
 * Develop tools that support the larger development community within Roku, Roku fosters an inclusive and collaborative environment where teams generally work in the office Monday through Thursday. Fridays are generally flexible for remote work, except for employees whose specific roles or assigned office location require five days' a week attendance.
