## About the Role

* Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience, * Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software and equipment
 * Highly specialized knowledge of a specific technology
 * Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor
 * A minimum of a masters degree, in the field of molecular biology, bioinformatics or a related discipline.
 * 3+ years experience working with RDMS/SQL in a production setting.
 * PhD preferred.
 * Demonstrated, strong background in collecting and processing scientific data, preferably in the context of Drosophila research. Experience with Perl or python in a UNIX environment is essential, and a working knowledge of java would be useful.
 * The ideal candidate will have strong collaborative skills and an familiarity in the model organism database community, and an interest in software development using open-source software resources in the production of reusable software components suitable for open distribution.

Certificates and Licenses:

 * Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred
