## About the Role

nBachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required; no equivalencies or experience substitutions will be considered.\n

 * 1-3 years of experience in AutoCAD and engineering drawing review.
\n

 * Proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to create and modify electrical block installation drawings.
\n

 * Strong attention to detail for reviewing and verifying complex engineering configurations across multiple ship variants.
\n

 * Ability to manage and track large volumes of technical documentation (thousands of LARs, multiple TDPs, wire lists).
\n

 * Strong organizational and coordination skills - you will manage deliverables across multiple ISEAs, program offices, and shipbuilders simultaneously.
\n

 * Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable hosting meetings and driving action item closure.
\n

 * Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of deliverables and work independently.
\n

 * Basic technical writing ability for reports, wire discrepancy lists, and test procedures.
\n, * Successful applicants must either have active government security clearance or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance.

 * Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance., * Experience with Jira or similar task tracking and project management tools.

 * Familiarity with shipboard machinery control systems, propulsion plant configurations, or HM&E systems.

 * Prior experience working in a Planning Yard, ISEA, or shipyard engineering environment., nWhen activated for onsite work, employees working in naval industrial environments, whether shipboard or pierside, must meet certain physical requirements to safely perform essential job functions. Individuals must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, often on uneven, wet, or slippery surfaces, and must be able to climb vertical ladders, stairs, and steep inclines while carrying tools or equipment. The position may require the ability to work in confined spaces with limited ventilation and restricted movement, including crawling through narrow passageways and working in overhead or below-deck areas. Workers must possess sufficient manual dexterity and grip strength to operate hand and power tools, manipulate controls, and handle materials weighing up to fifty pounds on a regular basis. Adequate vision is necessary to read technical manuals, identify -coded systems, and detect safety hazards, while hearing capability must be sufficient to
perceive warning signals, alarms, and verbal communications in noisy environments, with or without hearing protection. ## Description

nThis position is for an engineer with strong AutoCAD skills and a detail-oriented approach to engineering documentation. You will serve as the Technical Data Package (TDP) lead for Machinery Control Systems (MCS), Repair Station Consoles (RSC), and Engine Controllers (EC) on the DDG-51 Modernization (MOD) and related Tech Refresh (TR) programs.\n

\nThis is a high-ownership role. You will independently manage configuration baselines, produce installation drawings, maintain tracking databases, coordinate across multiple engineering teams and government stakeholders, and occasionally travel to ships to verify legacy configurations firsthand. You will work in direct support of the NSWCPD Code 552 DDG MCS Waterfront Engineering team. Training and mentorship on program-specific processes will be provided, but candidates should be comfortable taking ownership of deliverables and driving tasks to completion with minimal supervision.\n
