## About the Role

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Alternatively, 4 additional years of relevant software engineering experience may substitute for a degree.
 * Extensive Software Engineering Experience: 20+ years in complex software programs and contracts, working on projects of similar scope and complexity.
 + Proficiency with Java development is required.
 * Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

## Description

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services, leveraging modern Java frameworks and best practices to build scalable, high-performance, and maintainable software solutions.

 * Design, develop, and enhance complex software systems, including high-performance analytics, real-time systems, innovative algorithms, and large-scale data processing solutions.
 * Recommend new technologies and processes to optimize complex software projects and drive innovation.
 * Serve as the technical lead for multiple software development teams, guiding their work and ensuring alignment with project goals.
 * Select appropriate software development processes in coordination with the customer and system engineering teams.
 * Ensure quality control across all developed and modified software, maintaining the highest standards for reliability and performance.
 * Delegate programming and testing responsibilities to teams and actively monitor their performance to ensure successful delivery.
 * Collaborate individually and within teams to review, test, and refine software components, ensuring they meet rigorous design and performance standards.
 * Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, delivering reliable, mission-critical solutions.
 * Apply advanced software development methodologies and best practices tailored to each project's needs.
 * Contribute to system-level design decisions, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse strategies, and leveraging COTS/GOTS solutions to maximize efficiency.
 * Transform system requirements into actionable software components, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
