This is the preferred "unicorn" profile. Priority: * Sybase ASE + Strong Linux - ideal * Microsoft SQL Server + Strong Linux - highly preferred * Oracle/Oracle RAC + Strong Linux - considered, but must demonstrate genuine hands-on expertise We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, accountable, dependable, detail-oriented, continuously learning, driven to automate repetitive work, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership and leading during production incidents. The ideal candidate focuses on long-term platform reliability rather than short-term fixes and has the technical depth, communication skills, and sense of urgency required to support a critical enterprise environment., Sybase ASE + Linux is the ideal profile. Microsoft SQL Server candidates with strong Linux experience are also highly preferred. Oracle/Oracle RAC candidates may be considered, but they must demonstrate strong hands-on experience and a willingness to learn and support Sybase., * Strong Linux administration experience - approximately 90% of the role. * Hands-on experience with Linux installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, backup/recovery, HA, and disaster recovery. * Strong enterprise database administration experience with Sybase ASE, Microsoft SQL Server, and/or Oracle RAC. * Experience with database replication technologies such as SAP Replication Server, Oracle Data Guard, and preferably HVR. * Strong scripting/automation experience with Python, Shell, Ansible, or similar technologies. * Experience with Veritas Cluster Server, ASM, LVM, and SAN technologies. * Strong understanding of storage, networking, operating systems, infrastructure services, and application connectivity. * Experience troubleshooting database, OS, storage, networking, replication, backup/recovery, and performance issues. * Experience with enterprise operational tools including ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence. * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. * Ability to work with urgency while maintaining production stability and reliability. * Additional database experience with MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar platforms is a plus. ## Description We are looking for a highly skilled Database SRE with strong enterprise Linux and database administration experience.
