Every order placed by a pet parent eventually becomes an invoice, a payment, a tax calculation, and a journal entry, and this team owns that path. You will work on production systems alongside senior engineers who will review your designs and code, starting with well-defined features and growing into larger components as your understanding develops. Accuracy matters here, and you will learn to test thoroughly and verify your own work as a matter of habit. No prior finance or ERP background is expected - we will teach you the domain. What You'll Do * Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications and services supporting Chewy's enterprise financial systems. * Build APIs, event-driven integrations, and batch data pipelines connecting commerce, warehouse, procurement, marketplace, and ERP platforms. * Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and finance and accounting stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable software solutions. * Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software design, implementation, testing, documentation, and debugging while applying sound engineering judgment and code quality standards. * Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following established software engineering and secure development practices. * Write SQL to investigate defects, validate the results of your work, and support financial reconciliation activities. * Participate in code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. * Support the services you contribute to in production, and learn monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational excellence practices. * Learn modern software architecture patterns, cloud technologies, and the financial processes these systems support while contributing to production software. ## Related Videos - [The Software Engineer 2030: From Coder To AI Orchestrator? - Patrick Schnell](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1825-the-software-engineer-2030-from-coder-to-ai-orchestrator-patrick-schnell) - [How Unit Testing Saved My Career](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1642-how-unit-testing-saved-my-career) - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [ Evaluating AI models for code comprehension](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1462-evaluating-ai-models-for-code-comprehension) - [From boy scouting to redrawing the landscape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1140-from-boy-scouting-to-redrawing-the-landscape) - [Git for Code Reviews](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/429-git-for-code-reviews) ## Related Articles - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Best Countries for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/267-best-countries-for-software-engineers) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers) - [Software Engineer Career: Things You Should Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/143-software-engineer-career-things-you-should-know) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs)
