## About the Role

* Good working knowledge of the effective principles of supervision
 * Good understanding of organizational techniques and time management skills, including techniques for prioritizing multiple projects to ensure completion by established deadlines
 * Excellent problem resolution skills
 * Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills
 * Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
 * Ability to interact effectively with the public and all levels of departmental personnel and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
 * Ability to take initiative, be flexible, work independently, and have the willingness to learn new duties
 * Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and diplomacy
 * Maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance in the performance of these specific functions

The Business Programs Division is committed to making it easier to do business in California. With bizfile California, the Secretary of State's new online portal, registering a business, filing a trademark or financing statement, or accessing public business records only takes a few clicks. These services are available 24/7 and are constantly improving, freeing up California's entrepreneurs to focus on their business endeavors while the SOS handles the paperwork.

The California Secretary of State is seeking qualified applicants to fill multiple permanent, full-time Supervising Program Technician II position(s) in the Notary and Special Filings & Compliance Sections of the Business Programs Division.
Under the general direction of a Supervising Program Technician III and/or Supervisor I, the incumbent works with a high level of independence and trains, plans, organizes and directs the work of a moderate sized staff, and personally performs the most complex work.
Please Note: This recruitment is for multiple Supervising Program Technician II positions within the same Division. The duties may vary depending on the unit assignment. Please review the Duty Statements for specific duties.
