As the organization evolves, development tools and technologies may change as systems migrate toward Cloud based or Software as a Service (SaaS) architectures., Baccalaureate degree and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience., Experience working with a Student Information system or the Ellucian application suite (Banner, Degree Works), Oracle PL/SQL, Java, Unix, Eclipse IDE and Git., Ability to understand complex, inter-related data dependencies in a modular software application Ability to research and recommend the implementation of new features and components of the application model Should be a self-starter who is able to identify and resolve problems with limited instruction Perform and handle complex and multi-level tasks from start to finish Ability to work in a team environment Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Work effectively and efficiently with team members across departments ## Description This position serves as an application developer responsible for project work and end user support for the Ellucian application suite. Enhancements to the Student Information System are developed using a range of technologies, including Pro*C, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Groovy/Grails, API based integrations, the Eclipse development framework, and other web technologies, with all data maintained in an Oracle database environment., The Software Developer, Entry level follows established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and adheres to IT best practices and standards, including the use of Git for source code version control. The role also includes providing technical support to functional business analysts to resolve end user issues, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction., Develop student information system enhancements using the desired technology solution while following industry standards. Debug existing enhancements as needed to support business analysts in resolving end-user issues. Adhere to team coding standards to provide uniform solutions. Participate in code reviews with other developers during each release cycle for cross training. A strong understanding of database, design, and development logic and constructs.
