This role is ideal for individuals with strong technical aptitude who are eager to learn, grow, and play a critical role in maintaining the safe and reliable operation of Michigan's electric grid.As an ATSO, you'll work alongside experienced, NERC-certified System Operators to develop the skills needed to monitor and operate Wolverine's transmission system, respond to system events, and support compliance with industry reliability standards. What You'll DoIn this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in:Monitoring and supporting the operation of Wolverine's transmission systemLearning switching procedures and outage coordination processesUtilizing advanced control systems, including SCADA technologyAssisting with outage response, operations and emergency situationsSound decision-making skills in fast-paced, time-sensitive environmentsStrong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, databases, and email systemsBasic algebra and analytical problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently while maintaining focus and attention to detailAbility to distinguish colors and accurately interpret charts, diagrams, and system dataWillingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and occasional emergency call-insWhy Wolverine?Wolverine Power Cooperative is a member-owned generation and transmission cooperative headquartered in beautiful Cadillac, Michigan.
