## About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help build next-generation data infrastructure and AI-enabled workflows. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about staying current with emerging AI/ML and data platform trends. This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY.
Senior Data Platform Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties:

 * Design, build, and operate a governed, self-service data lake platform using S3 and AWS Glue
 * Implement data governance and fine-grained access control using AWS Lake Formation
 * Automate infrastructure provisioning as code using Terraform
 * Contribute to a GenAI knowledge base platform and RAG-based applications
 * Build real-time streaming pipelines using Kafka as platform needs evolve
 * Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest structured and unstructured data

Senior Data Platform Engineer's Qualifications and Skills:

 * At least 5 years of hands-on data engineering or data platform experience
 * Strong experience with AWS services, including S3, Glue, Athena, and EMR
 * Experience with data governance tools such as AWS Lake Formation
 * Proficiency in Python and PySpark, with strong SQL skills
 * Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, Git, and containerization
